摘要 It is provided a self-healing polymer network comprising transition metal thiolates, particularly thiolates of a transition metal that is able to self-assemble by metallophilic attractions, and more particularly Au(1), Ag(1), Cu(1) thiolates, or a mixture thereof, and, optionally, disulfide bonds, thiol and other thiolate groups. It is also provided several processes for the preparation of the self-healing polymer networks of the invention, as well as uses thereof.

A self-healing polymer network comprising at least one polymer chain functionalized with at least two sulfur atoms in the form of thiol, thiolate or forming part of a disulfide, or a mixture thereof, wherein from 0.1-100% of the sulfur atoms are in the form of at least one transition metal thiolate, and from 99.9-0% of said sulfur atoms are in the form of thiol, a thiolate other than a transition metal thiolate, or forming part of a disulfide until completing 100% of the sulfur atoms in the form of disulfide, thiol, or thiolate, provided that if there are not cross-links in form of disulfide, then the at least one transition metal forming the transition metal thiolate is a transition metal that is able to self-assemble by metallophilic attractions.
