causing the blocking element to perform a closing movement in the direction of a blocking position, in order to block the injection valve, measuring a closing time point at which the blocking element reaches the blocking position, determining a time difference between the closing time point and a preceding starting time point of the closing movement, and determining, based on the time difference, a position which the blocking element had assumed at the starting time point of the closing movement.
