453,889. Optical sound recording and reproducing apparatus. MIHALY, D. VON, 3, Hildegardstrasse, Wilmersdorf, and PINTSCH AKT.-GES., J., 71, Andreas Strasse, both in Berlin. March 21, 1935, No. 8902. Convention date, March 21, 1934. [Class 40 (ii)] Relates to apparatus for recording sounds on or reproducing sound from an endless band of film having a continuous photographic sound track extending a number of times round the band parallel to the edges of the film, the record shifting at intervals from one track to the next, the tracks being successively traversed by the light beam which is shifted transversely of the film in order constantly to register with successive portions of the sound record. According to the invention, the film coil 4 is mounted on a plate 5 which is inclined to the base plate 2, the film 9 being withdrawn from the inside of the coil by one side of a driven sprocket 14 from whence it passes around a drum 8 at the control point back to the other side of the sprocket 14, around a guide roller 18 and is finally paid on to the outside of the coil, the plane of the loop so formed being slightly inclined with respect to the plane of the coil. The coil is supported on the plate 5 by freely rotatable radial rollers 6 and guide rollers 7. Spring supported pressing rolls 17 are provided on both sides of the sprocket 14. Specifications 453,888 and 453,890 are referred to.
|
