PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file edition device to control an increase of man-hour needed for a file edition work due to versions generated in the past and to control an occurrence of work errors. SOLUTION: File versions of a file at a client stored in an external memory 15 are read first (S100). Then, the read file versions of the file and a version association table stored in a memory device 14 are outputted to a monitor 11 and user's selection of software for editing one of the versions is waited (S110).
