PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow high-efficiency removal of malodorous components and achievement of excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: A fibrous deodorant includes a fibrous activated carbon, an aromatic amino acid and a sulphuric acid. The fibrous deodorant can be obtained a method including a step of immersing the fibrous activated carbon in an aqueous solution containing the aromatic amino acid and the sulphuric acid to bring the fibrous activated carbon to carry the aromatic amino acid and the sulphuric acid and the step of preparing the mass ratio of the aromatic amino acid to the fibrous activated carbon to range between 10-20 mass% and the mass ratio of the sulphuric acid to the fibrous activated carbon to range between 5-25 mass%, a step of removing the aqueous solution from the fibrous activated carbon carrying the aromatic amino acid and the sulphuric acid, and a step of drying the fibrous activated carbon from which the aqueous solution was removed.
