Disclosed herein is the use of (3S,6S)-3,6-bis(phenylmethyl)-2,5-piperazinedione in the manufacture of an antidepressant and a learning motivation improver. Additionally disclosed is the use of one or more members selected from the group consisting of (3S,6S)-3,6-bis(phenylmethyl)-2,5-piperazinedione, (3S,8aS)-hexahydro-3-(1H-imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine-1,4-dione and (3S,8aS)-hexahydro-3-(1H-indol-3-ylmethyl)-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine-1,4-dione, and one or more members selected from the group consisting of (3S,6S)-3,6-bis(1H-indol-3-ylmethyl)-2,5-piperazinedione, (3S,8aS)-hexahydro-3-(2-methylpropyl)-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine-1,4-dione and (3S,8aS)-hexahydro-3-(1-methylethyl)-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine-1,4-dione in the manufacture of an antidepressant. |
