摘要 Provided is a liquid crystal display device that includes: pixels, a pixel control unit, and a common voltage generation unit. The pixel includes: a display element; a first switching unit configured to sample each frame data; a first holding unit configured to form an SRAM, and to hold sub-frame data sampled; a second switching unit configured to output the sub-frame data; and a second holding unit configured to form a DRAM, and configured of which stored content is rewritten by the sub-frame data. The pixel control unit is configured to repeat writing the sub-frame data into the first holding units, and to operate to rewrite the stored content in the second holding units. The common voltage generation unit is configured to change a voltage value of a common voltage from a first voltage value to a second voltage value determined based on at least the one frame period.

A liquid crystal display device comprising: a plurality of pixels provided at intersection portions where a plurality of column data lines and a plurality of raw scanning lines intersect with each other, wherein the pixel comprises: a display element configured to be filled and enclosed therein with liquid crystal between a pixel electrode and a common electrode opposing each other;a first switching unit configured to sample, through the column data line, each frame data of an input video signal for displaying the frame data using a plurality of sub-frames having a shorter display period than one frame period;a first holding unit configured to form an SRAM together with the first switching unit, andto hold sub-frame data sampled by the first switching unit;a second switching unit configured to output the sub-frame data held by the first holding unit; anda second holding unit configured to form a DRAM together with the second switching unit,configured of which stored content is rewritten by the sub-frame data held in the first holding unit and input through the second switching unit, andconfigured to apply output data to the pixel electrode; a pixel control unit configured to repeat writing the sub-frame data into the first holding units in the plurality of pixels in units of rows,to turn ON the second switching units of all of the plurality of pixels by a trigger pulse after the sub-frame data have been written into all of the plurality of pixels, andto operate, for each sub-frame, to rewrite the stored content in the second holding units of the plurality of pixels with the sub-frame data that has been stored in the first holding units; and a common voltage generation unit configured to change a voltage value of a common voltage to be applied to the common electrode opposing to the pixel electrode from a first voltage value to a second voltage value within a predetermined period determined based on at least the one frame period.
