PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump capable of reducing the electric power consumption of a drive motor.SOLUTION: A thickness t2 of a discharge side blade 55 in the vicinity of a specific portion 53 of an impeller 30 is larger than the thickness t1 of a suction side blade 33. Due to this thickness difference, the discharge side blade 55 makes the capacity of the discharge side recess 56 in the vicinity of the specific portion 53 smaller than that of a suction side recess 39 in the vicinity of the specific portion 53. As a result, the force to act on the impeller 30 from a fuel to flow in the discharge side recess 56 is made smaller than the force to act on the impeller 30 from the discharge side recess 56 in the vicinity of an opposite portion. As a result, a fluid force to push the specific portion 53 of the impeller 30 toward the side opposite to the cover is comparatively larger than the fluid force to push the opposite part to the side opposite to the cover. Hence, the impeller 30 is suppressed from an inclination for the specific portion 53 to approach to the cover, thereby to reduce a sliding resistance between the specific portion 53 of the impeller 30 and a cover 19. |
