Provided are a method and device for forming a laminated substrate, wherein when forming a laminated substrate by continuously affixing at least two film sheets cut from two or more laminate webs having different roll widths to one surface of a rectangular substrate, misalignment is not generated, despite the assumption that the roll width of the laminate web used becomes irregular. The present invention is a method and device including a step wherein when pre-producing the two or more rolls of laminate web used in the production of optical display devices, for example, rather than performing strict control of the accuracy with which one roll width is cut to a dimension corresponding to the long side of the rectangular substrate used in the optical display device, i.e. the display panel, and the other roll width is cut to a dimension corresponding to the short side of same, the width of the laminate web that is gradually fed out from these rolls and that are fitted to the device for manufacturing optical display devices is measured, and adjoining cutting lines that control the dimensions that correspond to the roll width of the respective film sheets are formed on the respective laminate webs in such a manner that one of the measured widths serves as the length in the second feed direction, and the other measured width serves as the length in a first feed direction. |
