1,011,480. Tape recorder switches. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 10, 1964 [March 13, 1963], No. 10066/64. Heading G5R. [Also in Division H2] Any one of 4 keys 1, latched down by interengagement of members 6, 8 are released either by the action of pressing another key or by the leftwards movement (Fig. 2) of a member 15 either of which actions releases the pawls 6. The action of pressing down any key latches the end 16 (Fig. 1) of the member 15 behind a light-duty solenoid-operated pawl 17 by means of the linkage 21, 23-29, the action extending a spring 20 which provides the unlatching power when the solenoid 19 is actuated by the limited power switchable by a record-tape contact-foil. A single press-to-operate, press-again-torelease switch (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) has a similar solenoid-operated release-pawl mechanism as an alternative means of releasing the switch. |
