DOUBLE-SHELL TANK STRUCTURE FOR USE ON SHIP, AND LIQUEFIED GAS CARRIER

This structure of a horizontally arranged, cylindrical double-shell tank (8) loaded on a ship is provided with an inner tank (2) which stores liquefied gas, and an outer tank (3) which ensures a vacuum space between the inner tank (2) and the outer tank (3). A pair of support units (4A, 4B) supporting the inner tank (2) is arranged between the inner tank (2) and the outer tank (3). Each support unit includes multiple cylindrical bodies arranged in the circumferential direction of the tank (8) such that the axial direction of said bodies matches the radial direction of the tank (8), multiple inner members which hold the ends of the cylindrical bodies facing the inner tank (2), and multiple outer members which hold the ends of the cylindrical bodies facing the outer tank (3). The cylindrical bodies consist of glass fiber reinforced plastic.
