PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, in a plate refractory applied with pitch impregnation treatment, the possessing performance of a plate refractory such as apparent porosity and pore diameter is limited for securing a pitch impregnation effect, and to obtain a manufacturing method of the high-resistance plate refractory which is adjusted in a remaining volatile component of an impregnation pitch in a proper amount while suppressing the apparent porosity after impregnation heat treatment low.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a plate refractory for a sliding nozzle, a fireproof raw material is molded into a prescribed shape, the obtained molded body is combusted, and after that, pitch impregnation treatment and heat treatment are applied to the obtained combusted product. A pitch for use in the pitch impregnation treatment is not higher than 1 mass% in a quinolone insoluble, and not lower than 25 mass% in a fixed carbon content. |
