A display device, comprising: a display panel and a backlight source (30), wherein the display panel comprises an upper substrate (10) and a lower substrate (20) arranged opposite to the upper substrate. The display device also comprises a transparent solar battery (102) arranged at the upper substrate (10), a light-sensitive coating (103) which is arranged in a light-proof area of the display panel and used for sensing a light from the backlight source, and a signal processing unit connected to the light-sensitive coating (103) and the transparent solar battery (102), wherein the signal processing unit judges an operating state of the display device according to a change of a resistance value of the light-sensitive coating (103), so as to enable the transparent solar battery (102) to charge or discharge a rechargeable battery of the display panel.
