The invention relates to a process for making a weft-knitted fabric for clothing articles. According to the invention, the process consists in that a Simplex knitting machine with tuck stitches and uniform distribution is used to make a series of rib- and derivative plain-knitted elements on the register height on the pairs of needles of the two needle bars, resulting in the completion of a course of stitches of the rib and plain derivative type, respectively.
