<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compounds that interact selectively withα7-containing neuronal nicotinic receptors (NNRs),α4β2 NNRs, or bothα7 andα4β2 NNRs to effectively treat mild cognitive impairment, age-associated memory impairment (AAMI), senile dementia, AIDS dementia, Pick's disease, dementia associated with Lewy bodies, dementia associated with Down's syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington's disease, smoking cessation, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar and manic disorders, diminished CNS function associated with traumatic brain injury, acute pain, post-surgical pain, chronic pain, inflammatory pain, and the like.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a compound that is a substituted azaadamantane ester and carbamate derivative shown in formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, amide, or a prodrug.</p> |
