<p>Electrofusion fittings are used to connect sections of plastic pipe. The fittings are placed in contact with the pipe sections to be connected and then an electrofusion element comprising a resistance wire disposed within the fitting is energised by attaching a connector to a terminal pin on the outer surface of the fitting which is in electrical communication with the resistance wires. The present invention relates to a terminal pin for use in electrofusion fitting which is compatible with connectors used as standard in various different countries, having one diameter when unloaded and another under load. The pin may have struts 407 on a collar, struts (407, Fig 3b) integral with the pin, elastic fingers 408, or a plurality of flaps (413, Figs 4a-5c).</p> |
