<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply performance such that a viewer becomes interested in and amused by images reproduced and displayed and does not get bored with the images. <P>SOLUTION: The computer is caused to perform: a feature extracting procedure in which an image picked up by an image pickup device is analyzed and first and second areas A and B similar in image feature are extracted from the image; a false zoom-in procedure in which a first logging area including the first area A is set from the image, and while the first logging area is gradually reduced to the first area A, the image in the first logging area is shown on a display; and a false zoom out procedure in which the second logging area including the second area B is set from the image, the image of the second logging area is shown on the display while the second logging area is gradually enlarged from the second area B.
