<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-size plug door device that can make a door drive mechanism, which applies a force to a door in the forward/backward direction of a vehicle, conduct opening/closing operation and plug operation and can lock the door without backlash when closing. <P>SOLUTION: A slide base 12 is installed as slidable in the vehicle width direction with respect to a fixed base 11. A door drive mechanism 13 that moves a single door 104 in the forward/backward direction of a vehicle via a connection part 19 is installed on the slide base 12. A guide part 15 guides a shaft part 14 provided on the connection part 19 so that the shaft part moves in the vehicle width direction. In a double-speed rail 16 in which a pinion 16c is disposed between two racks (16a, 16b), one rack 16b is connected to the slide base 12 while the other rack 16a is connected to the door 104 side, and the pinion 16c is connected to the connection part 19 side.
