[Class 37] In a dry contact rectifier comprising a number of banks A ... C of rectifier elements 14 arranged side by side in a duct or passage through which cooling fluid passes, the banks are separated from each other by partitions 10 which divide the duct into a number of separate passages each containing a bank of rectifier elements. The separate passages may be further sub-divided by the rectifier elements themselves into secondary passages, so that the main cooling fluid duct is of cellular structure. A fan 15 may be disposed above the rectifier assembly and may be connected to the duct by a smooth stream-lined connecting passage (not shown). A filter device 16 of wire gauze may be placed below the rectifier elements to intercept particles of dust or the like entrained in the stream of air entering the duct under the action of the fan. |
