Disclosed is an electronic device. The electronic device includes: a battery unit which includes a battery and supplies power to each component of the electronic device using the power stored in the battery; a power charge unit which, if power is received from an external adapter, charges the battery using the received power; a user interface unit which displays the charge status of the battery; and a power control unit which controls the user interface unit to, if the charge status of the battery meets a predefined first condition, displays that the charging of the battery is completed and controls the power charge unit to charge the battery until the charging status of the battery meets a predefined second condition.
