<p>Provided are a method for producing hydroxypropyl chitosan and a composition for a film produced by using the same. The method for producing hydroxypropyl chitosan comprisies: a synthesis step of putting alkali chitosan and propylene oxide into a hexane solvent to make alkali chitosan and propylene oxide react to synthesize hydroxypropyl chitosan; a refining step of dissolving the synthesized hydroxypropyl chitosan in an acid solutioin; and a drying step of collecting precipitate by filtering after the refining sep and drying the precipitate. Therfore hydroxypropyl chitosan with enhanced filming function produced by the method is produced.
