<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably combine, even when areas for arranging kana images are not present in the peripheral areas of images indicating characters to be added with kanas, the kana images with the original images.SOLUTION: An extraction unit 101 extracts characters requiring addition of kanas from image data, and a line area detection unit 102 detects line areas from the image data. A kana detection unit 103 detects kanas for the extracted characters, and an image creating unit 104 creates kana images indicating the kanas. A determination unit 106 determines whether or not arrangement areas in which the kana images can be arranged are present in the peripheral areas of the images indicating the characters in the line areas. When the determination unit 106 determines that the arrangement areas are present, an image composition unit 105 combines the kana images with the arrangement areas, and when the determination unit 106 determines that the arrangement areas are not present, creates areas for arranging the kana images in the peripheral areas and combine the kana images with the created areas.</p> |
