PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient acquisition of a proxy video data file from a cartridge storing plural recording media.SOLUTION: A data recording unit records data in a cartridge that is loaded into a cartridge loading unit and that stores plural recording media. The data recording unit records video data files of a first resolution in a first recording medium in the cartridge. The data recording unit records video data files (proxy video data file) that correspond to the video data files of the first resolution recorded in the first recording medium and that has a second resolution lower than the first resolution. Proxy video data files corresponding to all the video data files of the first resolution in the cartridge can be acquired without accessing all the recording media in the cartridge.
