PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive control system for a work machine, capable of further reducing energy required for driving a hydraulic motor.SOLUTION: A drive control system 1 of a hydraulic shovel 2 is equipped with a control device 50. The drive control device 50 controls operation of an electric motor driving device 36 so that a high efficiency torque allowing the highest electric power efficiency to be obtained at a target revolving speed is outputted from an electric motor 34 when a revolving superstructure 5 is accelerated to the target revolving speed. Moreover, the control device 50 controls operation of a hydraulic feeder 9 so that a residual torque obtained by subtracting the high efficiency torque from a target torque is outputted from a hydraulic motor 33.
