The invention relates to a method for fermentational production of dicarboxylic acids with a purity of 95-99.9 wt%, wherein the dicarboxylic acid is subjected to a crystallisation in which a mother liquor is produced, of which 2-100% is withdrawn and the dicarboxylic acid contained therein is reacted to form the anhydride thereof and any accumulated residual mother liquor is fed back upstream of the crystallisation.
