Abstract A recruitment system is disclosed that comprises a back end system arranged to store available job information 5 indicative of a plurality of available jobs offered by at least one prospective employer, a communications network, and a user interface device arranged to communicate with the back end system through the communications network. The user interface device is configured to receive desired 10 job data indicative of a job sought, and to communicate the desired job data to the back end system. The back end system is configured to store the desired job data, to compare the desired job data with the available job information and to communicate at least one job 15 notification to the user interface device when the desired job data matches at least one available job defined by the available job information.
