<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic electronic component that is manufactured with a high yield. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic component 1 includes a rectangular parallelepiped ceramic sintered body 10 comprising a ceramic composition, and first and second internal electrodes 11, 12. The first and second internal electrodes 11, 12 are disposed in the ceramic sintered body 10 opposite to each other. The ceramic sintered body 10 includes: a first portion 10E where at least one of the first and second internal electrodes 11 and 12 is disposed; and a second portion 10F which is disposed outside the first portion 10E and in which neither the first nor the second electrode is disposed.
