摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a shaft which is improved in fatigue strength, particularly twisting fatigue strength by increasing residual compression stress of horizontal hole wall surface of the shaft having a horizontal hole such as an oil hole by using cavitation peening. <P>SOLUTION: The method is directed for manufacturing a shaft having a shaft hole arranged in parallel with a shaft axis direction and horizontal holes penetrating to the shaft hole from the side surface of the shaft. After the openings of the horizontal holes on the shaft side are closed, jet water flow in which low pressure water is arranged around high pressure water is jetted to the horizontal holes from the side surface side, and thereby the residual compression stress by the cavitation peening is given to the wall surfaces partitioning the horizontal holes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
