METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FABRICATING DENTAL PROSTHESIS

Disclosed is a method to fabricate a dental prosthesis, including the steps of: generating a three-dimensional model of the dentition by obtaining an image of a patient′s dentition; placing a portion of the dentition on the computer model of a mill blank; defining a margin area surrounding the teeth; defining a margin area of the abutment area outside a ditch area; generating a model milling having two virtual parts including the margin area and the abutment ditch area; and milling the dental prosthesis using a speed difference. The milling of the abutment ditch area is performed at a higher speed than the milling of the dental prosthesis area.
