<p>The stamping press is of the type comprising a lower structure (10), an upper structure (20) and a slide (30) which is suspended from the upper structure (20) by a guideway (25) and which carries a working tool (40) that works the sheet metal (1). In this press, the lower structure (10) has a first guide plate (12) and a second guide plate (14), which are both fixed rigidly to said lower structure (10) and are inclined in each of said two working directions (Dl, D2), respectively. The movement of the slide (30) and of the working tool (40) is, in the downward movement of the press, directed first of all by the sliding contact between the slide (30) and the first guide plate (12), i.e. in the direction of the inclination of said first guide plate (12), and then by the sliding contact of the slide (30) with the second guide plate (14), i.e. in the direction of the inclination of said second guide plate (14).</p> |
