Disclosed are a water purification device for generating alkaline ionic water and cold and hot water; and a controlling method thereof. The water purification device for generating alkaline ionic water and cold and hot water according to the present invention comprises a main body having a water inlet formed to introduce raw water; a filter connected to the water inlet to generate purified water by filtering the raw water and removing foreign materials; a direct water cooler connected to a first pipe, which is connected to the discharge hole of the filter, to cool the purified water; an electrolytic cell for introducing the purified water cooled by the direct water cooler and generating alkaline ionic water by electrolyzing the purified water via the supply of a fixed quantity of electricity; an alkaline ionic water discharge hole formed at one side of the front surface of the main body to discharge the alkaline ionic water generated by the electrolytic cell; a hot water tank for introducing the purified water discharged from the discharge hole of the filter and having a heater formed to heat the introduced purified water; a purified water discharge hole formed at the other side of the main body to simultaneously perform a hot water discharging function of discharging hot water discharged from the hot water tank and a cold water discharging function of discharging cold water connected to the discharge hole of the direct water cooler to be cooled; and a control part formed on the front surface of the main body and having a first selection part for selecting the discharge of alkaline ionic water or the discharge cold water/hot water and a second selection part for selecting the concentration of alkaline ionic water. Therefore, purified water and cold and hot water can be discharged and alkaline ionic water can be discharged after selecting the concentration of the alkaline ionic water. |
