<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct thermal system printer which can clean a thermal head by utilizing part of a paper without incurring waste of the paper, or forcible complicated operation and prior preparation to a user. <P>SOLUTION: The direct thermal system printer X includes a paper front end detecting part Y which detects a paper front end S1 along the sending direction A from the side of a paper roll storage part 1 towards the thermal head 2. At least a predetermined length (outermost peripheral region S3) from the paper front end S1 detected by the paper front end detecting part Y is sent out in the sending direction A, and the paper S is pressed under the thermal head 2 to be subjected to printing processing while the paper is transferred in the printing direction B by only the predetermined length (outermost peripheral region S3), cleaning the thermal head 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
