<p>A stowable and deployable table 4, located for example on a seat in a car, train or aircraft, is mounted on a support structure 2, 6, 8 and comprises an electric drive, comprising a rack 14, 16 and a pinion gear 12, enabling movement, preferably pivotable, of table 4 between a stowed position and a deployed position. Pinion 12 may be meshed with two parallel racks, for example toothed belts or cables 14, 16, that may run in opposite directions. The support structure may comprise rails 6, 8 comprising end stops 22, 24, 26, 28 and connected to cables 14, 16 through cable trucks 18, 20 in rails 6, 8 that run between the end stops. Table 4 may comprise a rocker switch (60, Figure 4A) actuable to deploy or stow the table, and a memory of the most recently deployed position.</p> |
