A surgical guide 2 comprises a guide body 4, configured to fit to a surface of a part of a human or animal body, and a cutting head guide. When the surgical guide 2 is fitted to the surface of the part of a human or animal body, the cutting head guide defines a predetermined path across the surface. The cutting head guide guides a cutting head of a surgical device along the defined path. Preferably the cutting head guide comprises a plurality of slits or channels 6, which pass through the guide body 4 from a front surface 8 to a lower surface 9. Preferably the surgical guide 2 is a dental surgical guide and fits on the dental arch of a patient. Also disclosed is a method of manufacture of a surgical guide, comprising providing a first positive physical model with a location indicating structure corresponding to a predetermined location in the part of the human or animal body. A mould part for a mould and its method of manufacture are also disclosed. |
