A geospatial platform for building applications involving location and time is disclosed. The applications allow users to analyze and make sense of the location and time-based data generated by a wide variety of devices in real time, as it is generated. The platform in one example features a dashboard for associating code statements with a variety of data visualizations. The code statements access real-time and/or location based data and generate a result set that is optimized for displaying a selected data visualization in the dashboard. The code statements are ideally executed on a server so that large quantities of data can be manipulated as it is generated by various devices in real-time. |

1. A geospatial platform for creating data analysis applications for visualizing time and location data sets, comprising:
a server for receiving a plurality of time and location data sets from a plurality of sources, and for executing code statements that select data from a selected data set of the plurality of time and location data sets and format it according to a data visualization, wherein at least one of said code statements is an R statistical algorithm; a computing device, coupled to the server, having a display for showing a plurality of data visualizations which can be selected and a plurality of code statements which can be selected, said display also showing data visualizations based on the execution of code statements by the server; and input device for choosing a code statement and matching it with the selected data set and the selected data visualization, then sending the code statement to the server for execution. |
