<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing raw material for enzymatic saccharification, which can impart to vegetable biomass sufficient reactivity for enzymatic saccharification and can sufficiently decrease the usage of ammonia.SOLUTION: First, liquid ammonia or ammonia including liquid ammonia is fed to a reaction vessel storing lignocellulose-containing vegetable biomass at a temperature of from -40°C to 80°C, then the temperature of the reaction vessel is raised to from 60°C to 135°C and to a temperature higher than the reaction vessel temperature when starting the feed, for treatment of the biomass with ammonia including gaseous and liquid phase ammonia (ester bond cleavage). After that, the temperature in the reaction vessel is cooled down to from -40°C to 40°C, and additional liquid ammonia or ammonia including liquid ammonia is introduced into the vessel in such manner that mass of liquid phase ammonia/dry mass of the vegetable biomass becomes 0.1-1.1, to treat the biomass with ammonia including liquid phase ammonia at a temperature from -40°C to 40°C (crystalline transition).</p> |
