The invention relates to a lock cylinder comprising a lock cylinder housing and a cylinder core which is rotatably mounted in the lock cylinder housing by means of a key that can be inserted into the key channel of the core. The cylinder core has a cut-out section that extends longitudinally in the position of the key channel, into which section a cylinder core head, which covers the front end of the cylinder core and comprises a key channel formed on to said head, can be inserted as a separate component.
