PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use three-dimensional filtering of measurement data to improve contrast of OCT images.SOLUTION: A specific radiation including at least one first electromagnetic radiation is directed to at least one sample, and at least one second electromagnetic radiation is directed to a reference. The first electromagnetic radiation having a specific cross-sectional width can be applied to at least a part of the sample to generate at least one third electromagnetic radiation. The first electromagnetic radiation can be translated in at least a part of the sample along a specific axis within a distance equivalent to a predetermined multiplier between a multiplier of 0.5 and a multiplier of 100 with respect to the specific cross-sectional width. Interference can be detected between the third electromagnetic radiation related to the first electromagnetic radiation and at least one fourth electromagnetic radiation related to the second electromagnetic radiation. An asymmetrical cross-sectional area of the first electromagnetic radiation can further be provided.
