<p>A superpositioning unit (105) composites a child screen which is generated on the basis of a video signal which is gamma corrected with a child screen gamma LUT (104) upon a parent screen which is generated on the basis of a video signal which is gamma corrected with a parent screen gamma LUT (102) and generates a composite screen. A control unit (106) compares the brightness of the parent screen which is obtained on the basis of a region near to the child screen in the composite screen with the brightness of the child screen, and if the difference in these brightnesses is a greater value than a threshold, changes the gamma characteristic which the child screen gamma LUT (104) uses in the gamma correction.</p> |
