<p>The invention relates to a mechanical clutch and can be used in automotive vehicles of different purposes and load-carrying capacities and in starter motors in construction machinery and other machinery. The mechanical clutch, which is intended for transmitting rotation in an automotive vehicle from the engine to the gearbox, momentarily disengaging same and subsequently smoothly engaging same when the vehicle starts moving and when the gears are shifted during travel, comprises a housing (1), an engine flywheel (3), elastic plates (5), actuating springs (6), release levers (7), release sleeves with release bearings (8), a sleeve shifting fork (9), a pedal (10), and clutch release rods (12). The clutch additionally comprises an arm (4a), a butting member (21) on the flywheel (3), shock absorbers (14) situated on the rotational shaft (17) of the arm (4a), a backup arm, shock absorbers and butting plates, which are antisymmetric about a plane through the centre of the rotational shaft (17), said shaft being perpendicular to the axis of the arm, and rotation is transmitted mechanically by the application of the force of normal pressure from the flywheel (3) to the arm (4a) in a direction tangential to the circle of rotation. The clutch prevents slippage during the transmission of force from the engine, requires minimal material, is simple to manufacture and maintain and is economical and long-lasting.</p> |
