PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device that suitably delays timing of a start of feeding by a feed roller with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: support means of supporting a medium; a feed roller which feeds the medium supported by the support means in contact with the medium; a swing member which is provided to swing around a swing axis and swings to displace the feed roller in directions in which the feed roller contacts and leaves the medium; a first engagement part which swings together with the swing member; a second engagement part which can engage with the first engagement part and is provided in a fixed state; a medium return member which returns the medium, sent out from the support means by a predetermined amount in a feed direction to the side of the support means; and a motor which serves as a common drive source for the feed roller, swing member, and medium return member, a swing action of the swing member comprising a part in which the first engagement part and second engagement part move relatively in an engagement state and a part in which the engagement of the first engagement part and second engagement part is released and the feed roller moves toward a medium feed position where the medium is fed. |
