<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface emitting laser having a broad wavelength variable width.SOLUTION: A surface emitting laser according to the present embodiment having a lower reflecting mirror, a first spacer layer, an active layer, a second spacer layer composed of a semiconductor, an air gap composed of at least one selected from vacuum or a gas and an upper reflecting mirror in this order, and having a control mechanism for changing a distance between a boundary surface between the second spacer layer and the air gap and a boundary surface between the upper reflecting mirror and the air gap is constituted such that an optical length n×d between a boundary surface between the lower reflecting mirror and the first spacer layer and the boundary surface between the second spacer layer and the air gap satisfies a predetermined relationship.</p> |
