PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge reinforcement structure and a bridge reinforcement method capable of preventing a bridge from deflecting due to wheel loads acting on a reinforced concrete slab.SOLUTION: A bridge reinforcement structure prevents a bridge 1, which has a reinforced concrete slab 3a and a plurality of steel girders 2a supporting the reinforced concrete slab 3a, from deflecting due to wheel loads of a vehicle traveling on the reinforced concrete slab 3a. Vertical members 4a to reduce downward deflection of the bridge 1 are arranged in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the steel girders at predetermined intervals, shorter than the intervals of vertical stiffening materials preventing local buckling of webs, along the longitudinal direction of the steel girders.
