<p>A resource allocation method, a switch, and a controller. The resource allocation method comprises: the switch manages locally popularity information of a first content; the switch submits the popularity information to the controller to facilitate the controller in controlling buffer distribution of the first content on the basis of the popularity information. Embodiments of the present invention are applicable in a network having a content buffered on switches and use the switches for local management and submission of the popularity information of the content, thus ensuring that all accesses to the content can be recorded, increasing the accuracy in popularity information statistic compilation, and ensuring that the controller is allowed to allocate resources on the basis of the popularity information submitted; also, because the popularity information recorded on the switches in the network can be pooled via the controller, the true distribution of the content buffered on the switches in the network can be learned by the controller, and reasonable allocation of buffer resources in the network is allowed on such basis, thus increasing the rationality of resource allocation.</p> |
