The purpose of the present invention is to secure worker safety by maintaining the insulation distance from charge-able sections to conducting sections such as the shield cup detection switch. This plasma cutting torch is configured so that: the shield cup (12) is a cylindrical shape having a first upper surface (12a) and is installed on the torch body (9) so that the first upper surface (12a) faces a first bottom surface (9a) of the torch body (9); the nozzle (8) is a cylindrical shape having a first space therein; the electrode (5) is separated from the nozzle (8) and is positioned in the first space; a movable member (11) is provided on the torch body (9) and assumes a protruding state in which the movable member protrudes from the first bottom surface (9a) and a stowed state in which the movable member is stowed in the torch body (9); the shield cup detection switch is connected in series with the torch switch and is off when the movable member (11) is in the protruding state and is on when the movable member (11) is in the stowed state; and the movable member is insulating.
