[Class 142 (iv)] In a warping-apparatus, the harness shafts which guide the yarn from the supply to the beam in the form of superposed sheets have a common operating means by which the sheets may be brought into two sets for insertion of a lease-cord, the sets transposed for insertion of a second lease-cord, and the sheets restored to their original positions. The yarn comes from creels of the type described in Specification 476,467 in four superposed sheets each of which passes through a shaft 16. One pair of shafts is connected by lines 19 to one end of a lever 22 and the other pair to the other end, a third arm of the lever being connected by a bar 24 to a hand lever 23. The beam 3 is driven by an electric motor through a variable speed device 5 and a clutch 6 which, together with a brake 8, is controlled by a treadle 27. The heddles have porcelain, glass, or steel eyes.</p> |
