The invention relates to a method of managing wired connections of users to an IP network, the method comprising the following steps:
- (101) Receiving from a user a request for a requested IP address to access the wired IP network with a requested quality of service during a requested duration;
- Allocating an allocated IP address to the user;
- (105) Sending to the user a proposal message containing the allocated IP address associated with an allocated QoS for an allocated duration;
- (107) Controlling traffic between the user and the IP network to maintain the allocated QoS for the allocated duration.
