The present invention relates to a method and a system for checking an electronic document, which can check a variety of viruses and malicious codes included in an E-mail and an attachment. The method comprises: a first step of allowing a check server to previously receive an electronic document transmitted to a receiving terminal; a second step of allowing the check server to remove set macros from the electronic document; and a third step of allowing the check server to transmit the electronic document from which the set macros are removed.
