A Wireless Mobile Telephony (WMT) Public Address (PA) system (10) comprises WMT receiver/transceiver (12, 14, 16) which receives communications from a mobile phone (46) or any other equipment capable of sending WMT audio messages. The WMT receiver/transceiver (12, 14, 16) converts the WMT signal to an audio frequency output which is connected to the input of a power amplifier (80, 82), which amplifies the audio signal to the required level which is then be fed to a speaker (50, 58). The speaker (50, 58) facilitates the annunciation of audio messages received by the system (10).The PA system may be integrated with a CCTV system. A CCTV operator may further address messages to individual loudspeakers within the PA system by dialing a telephone number associated with that loudspeaker. The system may also allow for two way communication with a member of the public. The WMT receiver/transceiver may also allow remote operation of connected devices. |
