The present invention relates to a device and a method for detecting a distance and a speed of a target using radar. The device and the method are capable of: detecting peak power in a distance-speed map after consecutive waveforms are transmitted when a distance and a speed of a target are detected in radar to detect the speed using phase changes; selecting the target through reference power; and detecting the distance and the speed, thereby reducing computation and detecting the distance and the speed at the same time. Therefore, detection performance can be improved.
